ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Assistant Credit Manager, you will verify and post accounts receivable transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records and manages collection activities.  Some of the job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Collecting payments for an assigned accounts receivable portfolio.
  • Managing, performing and documenting collection calls on overdue accounts.
  • Reconciling assigned accounts, investigating discrepancies, and managing month end account adjustments.
  • Managing the customer statement process, sending invoices to customers and following up with customer requests.
  • Managing the daily flow of all monies received from other branches including cheques, cash, credit cards, electronic fund transfers, and PAPP’s.
  • Preparing head office bank deposits.
  • Processing and evaluating credit applications.
  • Ensuring the confidentiality and security of all financial files.
  • Preparing various reports as required.
  • Completing other administrative or accounting duties as needed.

Job Requirements

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of a Business or Accounting program preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an Accounting/Administrative capacity.
  • Having prior Credit and Collections experience is considered an asset.
  • Energetic and friendly, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the drive to meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with ADP accounting software is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
